As a crucial piece of equipment in modern logistics automation, the structure and working principle of AGVs integrate technologies from multiple fields, including mechanical design, sensor technology, navigation algorithms, and intelligent control.

 

Vehicle Frame System: Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) utilize high-strength alloy steel or composite material frames. The vehicle body typically consists of three parts: the power compartment, the lifting mechanism, and the load platform. The power compartment integrates the drive motor and control system. The lifting mechanism uses hydraulic or electric actuators to achieve load lifting of 1-5 tons; some models are equipped with multi-level masts for high-level access exceeding 6 meters.

 

Sensing Sensor Array: - LiDAR: Mainstream LiDAR products, with scanning frequencies of 10-50Hz and detection ranges up to 30 meters, are used for building environmental maps and obstacle recognition. - Vision System: Includes industrial cameras and depth cameras, achieving millimeter-level fork alignment accuracy. - Inertial Measurement Unit: Integrates gyroscopes and accelerometers to compensate for positioning errors. - Collision Avoidance Sensors: Contact-type buffers and infrared ranging sensors provide dual protection.

 

Drive and Steering System: Employs differential drive or omnidirectional wheel design. Mecanum wheel solutions support lateral movement, suitable for operation in confined spaces.

 

Currently, AGVs are evolving from single-machine intelligence to swarm intelligence. However, technological bottlenecks remain, such as semantic understanding in complex environments and standardization of multi-device communication protocols. These will be key areas for breakthroughs in the next generation of technologies. In actual deployment, configurations need to be selected based on the specific scenario; high-precision laser navigation solutions are suitable for the electronics manufacturing industry.
