Column Robot
Column Robot for Industrial Material Handling & Palletizing
The Haiyi Single-Column Robot is a 4-axis industrial robot designed for automated material handling and palletizing. By combining a rigid vertical lifting column with horizontal and rotary positioning axes, it provides a compact, stable, and highly repeatable solution for picking products from infeed conveyors and stacking them onto pallets.
With a 50 kg rated payload, a 2,205 mm motion radius, and a 2,164 mm vertical lifting stroke, this single-column architecture gives system integrators and production engineers a space-saving alternative to traditional articulated mechanical arms.

Payload & Gripper Sizing
When evaluating a 50 kg rated robot, the available payload for your actual product depends on four mechanical variables:
Total Allowable Load = Product Weight + End-Effector (Gripper) Weight <= 50 kg
Mass-Center Offset (Center of Gravity)
The 50 kg reference rating requires that the combined mass center of the gripper and product does not exceed 300 mm from the center of Axis J4. If your product or gripper geometry shifts the load center beyond 300 mm, the dynamic torque on Axis J4 increases, requiring a proportional reduction in actual operating payload.
Gripper Tare Weight
Industrial grippers (such as mechanical bag clamps or vacuum plates with integrated valves) often weigh between 8 kg and 18 kg. This tare weight must be deducted directly from the 50 kg rated capacity to determine the maximum allowable net product weight.
Application Evaluation Checklist for Sizing
Before selecting a model, buyers and integrators should verify:
Net product weight and packaging dimensions (L x W x H)
Exact location of product center of gravity
End-effector weight and mounting overhang distance
Acceleration/deceleration settings and required line cycle time

Applications & End-Effector Matching
Bag & Flexible Container Palletizing
Applicable Packaging: Woven bags, paper valve bags, multi-wall sacks (10 kg to 40 kg).
Gripper Recommendation: Dedicated mechanical bottom-support or side-clamp bag grippers. Bottom supports prevent bag deformation during high-speed vertical transfer.
Carton & Rigid Box Stacking
Applicable Packaging: Corrugated cartons, RSC boxes, plastic crates.
Gripper Recommendation: Vacuum cup arrays, foam vacuum plates, or mechanical side-squeeze grippers depending on surface porosity and dust levels.
Material Transfer & Depalletizing
Applicable Tasks: Transferring semi-finished parts between conveyors, loading/unloading machinery, or stripping products off incoming pallets onto production lines.
Gripper Recommendation: Multi-zone pneumatic clamps, magnetic lifters, or customized mechanical jaws.
Line Integration & System Control Architecture
A single-column robot typically functions as the core handling component within an end-of-line packaging cell:
Infeed Conveyor -> Product Detection Sensors -> Column Robot Positioning -> Pallet Stacking -> Stretch Wrapper / Forklift Transfer
Electrical & Signal Interface
• External Communication: Modbus/TCP interface allows direct signal exchange with master PLCs (Siemens, Rockwell, Mitsubishi, Omron).
• Digital Inputs/Outputs: 16 Inputs / 16 Outputs provide dedicated lines for interfacing with upstream product sensors, conveyor indexers, pallet-present switches, safety interlocks, and emergency stop circuits.
Utility & Installation Checklist
• Floor Foundation: Anchored to a reinforced concrete floor capable of supporting the 800 kg robot base plus dynamic loads during high-speed deceleration.
• Overhead Clearance: The static vertical column height is 3,028 mm. Overhead clearance must accommodate the column height plus cable tracks, top-mounted service loops, and facility safety margins.
• Power & Compressed Air: Requires a dedicated AC380V 8 kW line and a clean, dry compressed air supply (0.5 - 0.7 MPa) for pneumatic end-effectors.
